Movie Review - What Happens in Vegas...
Seriously, Hollywood is all worried about pirating (copying, screen cams etc...), when if there is ever a major downfall of the U.S. movie industry, it will be themselves to blame. This movie is a piece of crap. Come on Hollywood, start making some original pictures, move away from the "formula", stop making and remaking, and remaking "Superhero" movies, really....Hulk....again? Come on Edward Norton, I think you are better than that, must have been a big payday.
Anyways, getting off topic...this movie is bad, hardly any of it is actually in Vegas, and really puts a shadow over some of the classic Vegas movies out there.
Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Viva Las Vegas!
We decided to get a little pumped up ahead of time, and threw the DVD in the old player last night. The movie is a little cheezy, but you can't complain about all the great old shots of Vegas, especially the downtown area, man I wish the Mint and other long gone casinos were still downtown.
In fact, I believe that if the downtown area still looked the same as it did in 1964, rather than the "Disneyesque" look it has now, then it would be a lot more popular area for the tourists to visit.
One great aspect of the movie is the music, all except one or 2 "ballad" type songs are great! And you've got to love the roulette table designed dance floor!

David Copperfield
Well, looks like luck is on my side! The elusive David Copperfield will FINALLY be in Vegas the same time I am there. Usually we miss him by a week either before or after we arrive. But this time we are hitting it right on the nose!
Looks like we can get front row tickets for about $100 each...not bad. Not sure if this is an early bird special or what, but seems like a fairly good deal, as long as I don't have to go up on stage that is!Wednesday, June 04, 2008
Heading to Vegas at the end of September 2008
That's correct...this will be my 19th trip to Las Vegas, and this time around we are heading with a couple friends of ours whom we have not been to Vegas with yet.
This trip promises to be filled with good shows, lots of buffets and lots of spending...ohhh did I mention lots of buffets? Yeah I think there are plans for a diet until we head for Vegas...wonder if my wife's newly acquired Wii Fit will help us out in that area?
We are also planning on hitting other places of gastronomical proportions other than buffets as well...can you say In-N-Out, Sonic, Thai food, etc... I think I may need one of those little scooters to get around in!
We will keep you updated on our plans as we make them, as well as upload some photos of our trip. If relatively cheap Internet access can be found, we may do some updating while we are there.
So far we have decided to stay in 2 different hotels during this trip, the first 4 days we will be staying with our friends at the Silverton, after than our friends will be heading home (previous work commitments) and we will then be staying at the "Hotel formally known as Barbary Coast" for the next 3 days.
